Bloomberg Quotes Genaesis Founder on Patents and Innovation
Bloomberg quoted Genaesis Founder and CEO Erin-Michael Gill in “Inside Hitachi’s Growth Machine: Tubes, Patents and Petri Dishes,” published on July 28, 2016 and carried the following day by The Japan Times.
On Hitachi: “It’s one of the most innovative companies in the world.” Innovation, he said, is “critical to their business and it’s critical to their margins.”
On why the patents behind it matter: “A patent that costs a few thousand dollars protects a million dollars in revenue. Big companies don’t go through the effort of publishing patents if they’re not worth something.”
Gill had appeared on Bloomberg Television earlier, discussing patent litigation in Silicon Valley, during his tenure as Chief Intellectual Property Officer at MDB Capital Group.
